Counseling for Children & Adolescents
Adolescent and child therapy is a form of counseling that focuses on helping children and teenagers work through emotional, behavioral, or developmental challenges. It provides a safe and supportive environment for young people to express their thoughts and feelings, understand their emotions, and develop coping strategies. The goal is to promote healthy development, improve emotional regulation, and foster better relationships with family, peers, and others.
How to know if my child or teen needs counseling?
Children may display several signs indicating they could benefit from therapy. These can include sudden changes in behavior, such as withdrawal from social activities, frequent emotional outbursts, or excessive anger. They may also struggle with sleep or appetite changes, a decline in school performance, or difficulty concentrating. Persistent sadness, anxiety, or clinginess, as well as talking about self-harm or displaying self-destructive behaviors, are more serious warning signs. If a child experiences ongoing difficulty managing emotions or relationships, therapy could help address these challenges.
