Rates &  Insurance

Veritable Paths Counseling offers both self-pay and insurance options to provide flexibility and accessibility to a broader range of clients. Self-pay allows clients to maintain greater privacy, avoid potential limitations or restrictions from insurance, and access services that might not be covered by their plan. Offering insurance options, on the other hand, helps clients who need financial assistance by reducing the cost of sessions, making therapy more affordable and accessible for those relying on their insurance coverage. This dual approach ensures that clients can choose the payment method that best suits their needs and circumstances.

Using insurance to pay for therapy can make mental health services more affordable by reducing out-of-pocket costs, allowing individuals to access consistent care. It can help cover the expenses of sessions with licensed therapists, making therapy more accessible for those who might otherwise find it financially challenging. To check your insurance benefits, you can review your policy details online, call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card, or ask your therapist to verify coverage by contacting your insurance provider. You’ll want to confirm what services are covered, any copayments or deductibles, and if there are limits on the number of sessions.

Self-Paying Versus Using Insurance

Rates*

$100/45-minute individual session

$125/60-minute individual session

$150/60-minute intake/initial evaluation

$220/60-minute family/couple session

*Sliding scale available

Self-paying for counseling offers several significant benefits, allowing for greater autonomy, privacy, and flexibility in your mental health care. When you self-pay, you can choose a counselor who best aligns with your needs and preferences without being restricted by insurance networks or the need for referrals. This can lead to a more personalized and effective therapeutic experience. Additionally, self-paying ensures that your therapy remains confidential, as no diagnosis or treatment information is shared with insurance companies, which might otherwise impact your future insurability or lead to stigmatization. It also provides flexibility in the duration and frequency of sessions, allowing you and your therapist to focus on your healing journey without external limitations. Ultimately, self-paying can empower you to take full control of your mental health, ensuring that your therapy is truly tailored to your unique path to healing and growth.

Offering a sliding scale is another option therapists may provide to make therapy more accessible. A sliding scale adjusts the cost of sessions based on a client's income or financial situation, allowing those with limited financial resources to receive affordable care. This approach helps ensure that therapy is accessible to a wider range of individuals, regardless of their financial circumstances, while still supporting the therapist’s practice sustainability.
